This series began with the idea of replicating techniques used in lamp-worked glass art: warping and distorting sections of color to create more complex patterns. When I made these images, I created many separate sections of stripes, lines, or long rectangles, and then distorted these sections by hand. I moved the color the same way that molten glass would move, with the Liquify tool or a distort filter. Later pieces feature textures and patterns below these manipulations of color.
